Jackson Heidesch, a Duke-bound senior at Dowling Catholic High in Iowa, placed second in the inaugural boys elite high school mile in 4:02.76 at the 113th Drake Relays at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Heidesch achieved the fastest outdoor mile by an Iowa prep athlete after clocking the top indoor time in state history with his 4:02.25 performance March 12 at New Balance Nationals Indoor at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
